Minnesota whiteouts, winds and wicked weather. Then on to beautiful N.D. and welcoming Canada
Good morning. It’s 3:50 a.m. Central Time on Friday as I write now in Estevan, Saskatchewan. Not much time to write the last two days. We just plugged on and on. We stopped at the duty-free shop at the Customs border in Portal, N.D. last night and bought a not-bad...
Beloit to ? today
Woke up at 4 a.m. Central time to write a letter for reference for a super Ball State University journalism student seeking an internship at the Met. Gosia is still sleeping. This chain motel has breakfast at six a.m. There is a coffee pot in room but no coffee. ...

Happy New Year from the N.H. cabin
Having maple-flavored coffee from a friend's store, a local cafe dinner, and a spirited game of BLOKUS with Gosia.

Visiting N.H. before taking the “Alcan” Highway to Alaska
Greetings from Union City, Indiana. Like the reporter of Alaska Daily, I am venturing into Alaska to make a permanent address change. On January 3, I need to move from Point A (Union City, IN) to Point B (Fairbanks, Alaska through–BRRRRR–Canada by Jeep and van). If...
