The number 737 437-1943 is a scam run by someone calling himself “Md Nadim” through XE. The scam starts when the victim tries to cancel a subscription–that does not belong to CNN, People, or any other entity.
Disclaimer: The Xe Scumbag recipient’s name may be a pseudonym, alias, or assumed name. To be sure, I’ve reported the Cybercrime recipient’s name to the FBI and have used a computer-assisted search and identified persons of great interest with that name — from the United States to Bangladesh. I called an Xe representative who was indifferent, and I had to insist this be reported as a crime and that “Md Nadim” be told I wanted the stolen money returned. I give the Xe agent one star out of five for helpfulness.
When you call for a refund, you must give your credit card. Before you hang up, your card has been tapped for a large withdrawal by the scam artist identifying himself as “Mark Gomez,” likely an alias.
This is possible with CNN because CNN makes it difficult to cancel a subscription unless you log on. The Catch 22 is often you cannot log on.
