Authors Beware: <clegalsbookclub17@gmail.com>

Another group of scammers is out and around the world offering to represent a Cleveland area book club, a legitimate organization called Clegals Book Club.

The real book club uses this  email address <clegalsbookclub@gmail.com>

The fraudsters use spoof email addresses like the two below:

clegasbookclub519@gmail.com

Clegals Book Club clegalsbookclub17@gmail.com

And they have stolen the identity of the real book club’s founder. It looks like it is coming from the company’s founder.

IDENTITY THEFY FOLLOWS: I’m S____ P______, Founder & Book Club Director of The CleGals Book Club in Cleveland, Ohio. We seek out books that give readers meaningful subjects to examine and discuss, particularly works that bring important social issues into focus through research, history, and real-world experiences.

The message is almost completely written with artificial intelligence to target an author’s book output.  They’ll promise the moon and send you a link to empty your bank card or checking account.

I hope this warning might save some author from disappointment and a theft of hard cash.

Here is the link the scoundrels use: They invite you to complete the payment with this link below:

Another author “promoter” also promises the moon, providing author services for a fee.  What’s offered seems too good to be true, and clearly a come-on written with A.I. downloaded info about you, the targeted, lucky author.

Save your money and time. I’d recommend adding info.debracowell570@gmail.com
