Everybody has THAT book they say they can’t put down.
Frostlines by Neil Shea is a book I’m finishing, but have put down several times–to ponder.
Shea sees the world like a man who has SEEN the ARCTIC world, and I trust his voice on paper in Frostlines: A Journey Through Entangled Lives and Landscapes.
AN AUDIO BOOK is also available.
A third of the way through, I am sad about the plight of caribou in the Arctic but cheered by Shea’s storytelling and revelations about diminished caribou herds. His details separate him from the pack of environmental writers. At first, I questioned his first-person appearance, but they add to his narrative and are not “Me and Joe” sloppy stories.
Shea already has me hooked. More later as I finish in the midst of grading and a new play.
Here’s a recent review until I can write a proper book review in late May while in Poland: https://bylines.cymru/environment/review-of-frostlines-by-neil-shea
And here is a discount price on the book.
I will try to get a book review out from Poland asap
I’d say, don’t wait for my review. Based on what I’ve already read, I think you’ll find this book a great addition to the literature of the Arctic.
Read it? Send me your take on the book.
